I am a writer and journalist based in Berlin.

My work has appeared in The Nation, ProPublica, The Atlantic, Smithsonian Magazine, New York Review of Books, and elsewhere.

I most enjoy writing about people and ideas that go beyond daily news. I was a 2019-2020 Fulbright Scholar in Berlin. I speak fluent English, French, German and–on a good day–a little Serbo-Croatian.
